Review
I will immediately confess that given the cover and the classification of New Adult I was expecting a lot of adult content. However I was very pleasantly surprised by this novel, and although I have also classified it as New Adult I do not actually feel like it necessarily qualifies as such which is why I have also put Young Adult.
Acting has never been so dangerously deceptive or important. The question is do you act and allow the show to go on and for life to carry on because invariably it must and holding up appearances and a show is what us humans do, or do you drop the mask, the farce and the act, be a poor actor and let the truth shine through for the sake of your own happiness?
Losing It was absolutely adorably sweet and tender, giving me that warm fuzzy feeling inside that every girl needs once in a while. This is a must comfort read with wine and chocolate after a rough day and for when you feel you have lost all hope in love. I truly truly truly (I actually can't say it enough but shan't bore you excessively) enjoyed it.
There were no pretentions for a deeper beyond meaning. No skeletons in anyone's closet. No dramatic and hideous past.
What you saw is what you got. Just two normal people with a pretty normal and rather hilarious problem that presented with several funny moments. Aside from being an absolutely great comfort read, I have to say it was also a very refreshing one considering that recently a lot of books seem to create characters with each a more shocking/hideous/horrifying background than the previous. And although I appreciate that this has its place and purpose, it was pleasant to read about two fairly regular individuals that hadn't previously committed/witnessed a crime, suffered some severe trauma or something along those lines. Just your average Joe and Jane Bloggs, who happen to meet, fall for each other and then funnily stumble around in the sweet and tender inadequacies of love whilst trying to figure out a solution to a slight inconvenience.
Short sweet and simple were the rules and I loved Cora Carmack for it.
